Clayton English
Hailing from Atlanta, Clayton English is a dynamic stand-up comedian, actor, and writer
who first captured national attention by winning NBC's Last Comic Standing in 2015.
Since then, he’s been a fixture on the comedy circuit, headlining sold-out shows at
clubs, colleges, and festivals across the country. A sought-after opener for comedy
legends like Dave Chappelle and Bill Burr, Clayton continues to earn praise for his
unique voice, sharp wit, and magnetic stage presence.
Clayton’s talents extend beyond the stage to both television and film. He has appeared
in popular TV series such as Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Love, A.P. Bio, Tyler Perry’s House of
Payne, and Will Smith's Snapchat shows Will from Home and This Joka. On the big
screen, he’s been featured in The War with Grandpa and Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile. In 2021,
he joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as fan-favorite character “Grills” in the hit
Disney+ series Hawkeye.
A versatile creative, Clayton has written for A.P. Bio, Wild 'N Out, and The 2020 BET
Awards, and he’s worked as a comedy consultant on blockbuster films like Bad Boys for
Life and Bad Boys Ride or Die. He also starred in Comedy Central’s acclaimed web
series Dope Movies and co-hosted the Anthem Award-winning podcast War on Drugs.
Clayton is a regular on the popular 85 South Show and hosts his own podcast English
Majors on the 85 South platform.
